Key INFJ Traits:
- Highly perceptive and insightful; see “beneath the surface” of things to discern underlying patterns in human psychology, relationships, moral and spiritual issues, etc.
- Full of complexities and apparent paradoxes: creative and analytical, visual and verbal, serious and whimsical, private and expressive
- View human beings and the world through a moral / spiritual / philosophical lens
- Outwardly warm and welcoming; typically more talkative and personable than most Introverts
- Readily and directly express their feelings—positive, negative, or otherwise—especially around their intimates
- Conscientious in helping and attending to the needs of others; compelled to maintain morale and interpersonal harmony
- Encourage direct and frequent communication in their relationships with an eye toward growth and actualization
- Can be prone to offering unsolicited advice, unwittingly treating people as “projects” in need of their counsel and insight
- Hold high standards for themselves—morally, relationally, and aesthetically—but may doubt or struggle to know their own value in the world
- Commonly self-identify as “Highly Sensitive Persons,” struggling with bodily or environmental sensitivities
- Develop refined tastes which may at times garner accusations of snobbery or pretense
- Struggle to balance their Introverted needs with felt obligations to others
- Perfectionism, self-doubt, and concerns about foreseeing / controlling outcomes may impede consistent action toward materializing their broader vision
